Requirements for successful applicants for vocational training at SEG?
- You should have completed school education to an intermediate level with at least good to average grades ( in Germany 'mittlere reife' – average 2.5 or better).
Is there an opportunity for employment after completing the vocational training?
- Generally, we train young people so that after successfully completing their apprenticeship they will be able to provide motivated new recruits for our assembly teams.
Are there apprenticeships for various occupations?
- Currently we provide training for two occupations in electrical engineering, namely electronic technician for energy and building services engineering, and electronic technician for information and telecommunications engineering.
What are the requirements for an apprentice electronic technician?
- First of all you should be interested in technology, be good with your hands, and have basic knowledge about your future occupation. You should also have good basic knowledge in mathematics and physics, as well as good general knowledge and spelling ability, physical fitness, and good grades in work studies.Successful applicants will be expected to show reliability, concentration, a sense of responsibility, punctuality, flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Are internships or holiday jobs on offer?
- We take on students for both practical internships and for short-term jobs during school or college vacations. This is a good way to recommend yourself for an apprenticeship.
What is the payment like during vocational training?
- The level of payment is based on the negotiated tariff rates. In addition to the monthly payments we also pay a holiday bonus.
How long does the vocational training last?
- The training generally lasts a total of 3 ½ years. It may be possible to shorten this if your school grades are very good. A year of basic training is followed by practically-oriented training in state-of-the-art engineering.
How many apprentices are trained?
- In recent years on average about 15 applications were received. After a preliminary selection, ten candidates were tested for their suitability. The successful applicants were then chosen on the basis of these tests and an interview.
Where is the vocational training provided?
- The theoretical courses take place in the vocational training centre in Schönefeld (near Berlin). The practical part of the apprenticeship involves work on various building sites Berlin and Brandenburg.
